Guide for Buying an Acoustic Guitar Stand
I thought I could help you out when it comes to buying an acoustic guitar stand. This can be a little challenging for most people because there is a lot of variety out there. I know when I was first looking for a stand, I just assumed that they were all the same, but let me tell you that not all stands were created equally. That is why I created this little guide to help you out. I think the best types that are made, are from the brands that produce great guitars. They are the ones that are going to put a lot of work into a stand. A big thing that you have to look out for is how sturdy it is. Now what I mean by sturdy is that it wobbles whenever you put the guitar on it. This isn't a good sign because you're just goin to set down the guitar one day and as you're turning to go hear a big crash. It has to be a completely stable and sturdy stand for me to use it. The price range on this can vary depending on the quality. Obviously the ones that aren't well made are going to be the cheapest. Typically they'll run at about $20 a piece. If you're looking for something that is going to last you for years, that is built with the best material, that will take a beating and still do it's job, than you should expect to pay about $50 for the stand. I think that is a great price. It's not overly expensive and you know you're getting something good. Lastly, make sure the particular stand that you pick up contains a fretboard latch on the bottom. I know that your acoustic guitar has a nice finish on it and you want to protect it. This latch is designed to completely protect the guitar while it is in the stand. Basically that is all you have to know when you're actually purchasing an acoustic guitar stand. Just make sure you pay for a quality brand and you should be set. |
