The Advantages of Satellite Television
I thought I should talk to you about what you're going to be watching on television and how you're going to get it. You really only have two choices when it comes to how you're going to get shows on your TV, which is suprisingly the same amount of choices you had about 20 years ago. Well, at least the choices are between great looking television instead of a basic cable and antenna. I think the biggest advantage that you get is that you have local channels and you have other local channels from all over the country. For a satellite company, it costs the same to shows local channels all over the country than it is to limit it to certain regions. You can get access to a lot of local channels from coast to coast. The big advantage of this is that if you miss something that was on, you can always catch it on another channel later. I like to watch the Simpsons and you can find at least one channel that has it on in the evening. The next advantage is the crystal clear images you are going to get. I know cable likes to claim that you're going to get scrambled images and that can happen. But regular rain and snow isn't going to cause this problem. Here is the weather that causes scrambling... Lightening - You shouldn't even be watching television anyway. Freezing Rain - Unfortunate, but it happens. Very Heavy Rainfall - The kind that is typically associated with storms and typically your power goes out. As you can see, you're not going to get the crystal clear images in only the most extreme weather conditions. Most of the time you won't even be watching television in that position. The last important advantage is that the cost of subscription is actually a lot cheaper than cable. The numbers are pretty consistent overtime too. When I had cable, it seemed like every other month they were raising the price by a few dollars. Over a period of a year your cable bill jumps from $40 to $55. You're not going to experience that with a satellite dish. |
